Concrete in Practice

Learning skills to succeed!

Concrete in Practice (CIP) is a 4 week short-term, non-credit training program for people interested in pursuing a career in the concrete industry.  CIP is designed to prepare hard working individuals to be effective and productive employees.  This training program will also provide employers with a workforce that has the knowledge and skill set to succeed in the concrete industry.

Curriculum will consist of 4 modules:

  1. Introduction to Concrete (8 hours)

  2. Properties of Concrete (8 Hours)

  3. Tools and Equipment (8 Hours)

  4. OSHA Construction Training (10 Hours)

Students who register for training will be provided with the following:

  • Tool Belt

  • Hammer

  • Tape Measure

  • Speed Square

  • Sledge Hammer

  • Vise-Grips

  • Utility knife

    Classes start Tuesday, May 30th, 2PM – 6PM or  7PM

    Space will be limited to 20 for each training session & may be subject to change.

    Tentative schedule for all three locations:

  • Week 1 –  Introduction to Concrete

  • Week 2 –  Properties of Concrete

  • Week 3 –  Tools & Equipment

  • Week 4 –  OSHA 10-Hour
