Training - Registration Types

There are three basic types of registrations:

  1. training course with a certification exam, or
  2. certification exam only
  3. retake of an exam

In the case of a training course a person may register with or without text books. We offer it this way because the books may be on file at the employer's location. Because formal certification exams are involved we certainly recommend getting the books so that you can study. NC&AA keeps current workbooks in stock.

In some cases people have experience on the job and do not need to sit through a training session. That is why there is the opportunity to register for the exam only option. Currently we do not offer this option for the NDOR Plant Technician.

The last item on the list is the opportunity to take a written test over again. Normally, you would not sign up for this alternative unless you have been informed by ACI or NDOR/NC&AA that you did not pass the written exam the first time.

The EXAM ONLY options are exactly that. There is no training, no time set aside for demonstration or practice. This is truly an exam only option. For the ACI Field Testing Technician, Grade I this exam is in two parts. Normally the written portion will be offered first thing in the morning. It is a one hour test. The performance exam will follow.

In most of our locations the training and written exam will be given at a different location from the performance exam.
